RETURN – Progettazione di un interferometro SAR a bordo di un UAS

Abstract

Earthquake and volcanoes represent strictly natural hazards that have in common the episodic occurrence of catastrophic events affecting vast territories. While not all seismic areas are sites of volcanism, it is true that all the active (Italian) volcanoes are located in seismically active zones insisting in highly urbanized contexts. Therefore, with the aim of adopting a multidisciplinary, holistic and multi-risk approach, the two hazards, and the consequent risks, are analyzed in tandem in this spoke. Doing so, we attempt at making a step ahead in our ability to jointly consider their effects over structures, infrastructures and population, which have so far been mainly investigated separately. Risk maps as a function of dynamic hazards, vulnerability and exposure models will serve for transferring and sharing the results to (and with) other spokes focusing on Resilience of urban and metropolitan areas (TS1), Resilience of critical infrastructures (TS2), and Resilience of communities (TS3).
